In addition to his time in the Navy, Jimmy Martin also served the great state of Texas as a TDCJ mounted patrol officer.
He later pivoted to a chaplain position and retired as head chaplain of the Coffield Unit in Tennessee Colony, TX.
Jimmy retired in 2015, turned his focus to blacksmithing, which has been a lifelong interest, and appeared on Forged in Fire (S7 E31) in May 2020.
Jimmy and Melinda have been married for twenty-four years and reside in Beeville, TX.
